Industrial Internet of Thing (IIoT) Platform in Reality and its Digital Transformation.

One of the greatest challenges companies are facing now are the adoption of right technologies in Internet of Things (IoT) platform. Building a right business case is the main challenges faced by companies and eventually to derive the financials and the funding. Mainly many of the companies don’t know exactly what they want from the Internet of things. They know that can improve their organizations asset reliability,  , increased product quality, remote monitoring, optimized production operations. These can be defined as new technology or upgrade of old technologies.




Introducing as a new technology initiative for the old use cases will be much more acceptable and chances of convincing the management for the financial proposals. Currently the industry has been successfully implemented in connecting assets in mining equipment, packaging equipment, test equipment, motor automation, cold chain management, etc.

Any way management believes that this new IIoT technology will enable them to improved asset monitoring and production performance. Even though management is trying to figure out the areas of benefits in the asset monitoring and production performance. On

It is now inevitable for the organizations to embrace modern technologies and platforms that enables more flexible and data analytics. In this scenario rich and scalable  IIoT platform is required to bring together application development capabilities, cloud, connectivity and data analytics capabilities. Now days the interest and intentions to invest in IIT platform technologies has increased.

Many companies are planning to invest in IIot Platform to automate their business process. This greatly increase the acceptance of the IIot platform interest. Now a days implementation of IIoT technology is considering as an advantage of early adopter. Now days the main problem companies facing are securing the budget and building a business case.

The gap in the industries for the adoption of IIoT is the cultural and maturity of the organization which operating in the specific industry. For decades industries companies have less focused on improving the productivity, safety, energy efficiency, and reliability and most of the IIOT business case is based on saving the previously mentioned areas. But currently this is done by traditional technologies and methodologies like Six Sigma, Business Intelligence, ERP etc.


Currently companies are left with two choices.

1.       Build a business case with IIOT and secure funding and early adoption of the technologies.

2.       Do nothing and wait and test for the  success of IIOT and implement at a later stage.
